The Leopard part two - War in Wales
The following is chapter two of my book, The Leopard: The Wars of Edward I 1255-1274. I offered the first chapter free, but this is paid, with a preview below.
The focus of this second chapter is the young Edward’s first military experiences in Wales. These were quite harrowing, and seem to have persuaded him that Wales and the Welsh were unconquerable. Which is ironic, considering the events of his reign as Edward I.
